During the earlier Palmyra seed planting drive Karupampulam village in Nagapattinam District contributed a load of Palmyra seeds to KKPA, after observing an appeal for the same through Social media. This village was badly affected by the Gaja Cyclone during November 2018 and appealed to KKPA for help and relief. KKPA volunteers took a load of relief materials from Coimbatore, to the affected area and stayed behind to help in relief and rehabilitation. It was observed that flood waters stagnated in the village due to lack of drainage. KKPA then teamed up with Puthiya Thalaimurai (Tamil TV Channel), under their Nammal Mudiyum program, (We can do it program). The area was surveyed by a Technical team, new drains were dug, and cement pipes were purchased and installed with the help of the villagers and KKPA volunteers. The flood waters drained away in a matter of hours and the whole episode was filmed by Puthiya Thalaimurai TV and broadcast under their Nammal Mudiyum program.
